Who we are

Vision

IMEB produces Medium and Low Voltage switchboards for electricity production, transformation and distribution plants since 1973. The unification of the subsidiary IMEB POWER TECHNOLOGIES (owner of MARTELLI and APIERRE technologies and products), has allowed to harmonize the two companies, improving the offer available for its customers.

In the renewed production facilities of Acqui Terme (AL), IMEB produces medium voltage switchgear of the LSC 2B-PM type up to 36 KV, LSC 2A-PM up to 36 KV, low voltage switchgear of the "POWER CENTER" and "POWER MOTOR CONTROL CENTER ”up to 6300A with removable and fixed drawers with Martelli Apierre technology, in the version with internal arc seal too. The low voltage switchgear offer is completed by IMEB MODUL700 and MODUL 700PMCC technologies, available with busbar system variant for panel customers. IMEB also dedicates its technical department and its 3D design platforms to develop customized solutions. Externally, on the other hand, standard systems are developed in galvanized and painted sheet steel, such as "COMPACT SUBSTATION", or even containerized structures, completely custom made.

IMEB is focused on customers needing, in fact in the initial relationship phase IMEB develops ad hoc technical and commercial proposals.

IMEB guarantees a faster after-sales service in Italy and abroad, thanks to availability in stock of medium voltage equipment up to 36 KV and outdoor substation, complete with medium and low voltage switchboards, useful to assist the customer in case of sudden breakdowns.

IMEB also provides the compliance service to the CEI-016 standard and to resolution 84/2012 issued on 8 March 2012 by the Authority for Electricity and Gas (Specification A70 issued by TERNA), through an always available adjustment kit in stock.

According to the requirements and thanks to the flexibility of the solutions, the high customization, experience and competence IMEB switchboards can be implemented with supervision, control systems, BMS, SCADA and DCS.

Training

Training

IMEB is available to host technical staff from all over the world in its workshops, to carry out technical training on its products in order to prepare personnel both for the installation and maintenance of medium and low voltage switchgear and by providing all the necessary skills to solve any problems that may arise.

IMEB technical office is always available to provide consultancy both by telephone and on-site, through the organization of a specialized technicians team to support the client in solving any problems that may occur.

Seismic technical qualification test performed at the independent laboratory (CESI – ISMES) on Medium/Low Voltage Switchboards. Technical qualification obtained for high – level earthquake: peak of acceleration to the ground up to 1g. During the tests the circuit breakers were positively in opening-closing-opening (O-C-O) in accordance with the IEEE 693-2005 reference standard.

All IMEB products are built to satisfy customer needs in terms of security, reliability, ease of installation and customization on request.

MV panels

The LSC2A-PM switchboards, according to IEC-EN 62 271 200-1, IMEB UG36, are used in medium voltage electrical distribution for reception and transformation cabins and, in recent years, also at large wind farms. They are compact compartments with air-insulated busbars, as they are equipped with disconnectors, switch-disconnectors and switches that use sulfur hexafluoro (SF6) as a dielectric for isolation and interruption. The UG36 units, developed according to the IEC-EN 62 271 200-1 standards and the most advanced construction techniques make available to the user a complete range of versions and components also in the production and distribution of energy from renewable sources and the maximum simplicity of connection thanks to the possibility of using traditional dry-type terminals.

Renewable energies

In recent years IMEB has invested heavily in research and development of specific products for the production and distribution of energy produced from renewable sources. The fruits of this research are an increase in safety for operators and continuity of service, thanks to the compartments inside the panels, which allows access to the appliances without the risk of electrocution. The reduction of the overall dimensions allows a lower environmental impact, reducing the size of the control rooms. Starting from the first cogeneration plants in the 80s and through the supply of panels for biomass plants, for wind farms, the company reached the supply of panels for large photovoltaic plants.

LV panels

MODUL700 Low Voltage Panels are built according to the most advanced plant engineering techniques in the electric field and are characterized by high performance, with rated current up to 6300 A and short-time current up to 100 KA, remarkable compactness, modularity and segregation up to form 4b. They can be set up for circuit-breakers of the main manufacturers, up to the assembly and connection in bars of the prefabricated ducts (blind-bars) at the entrance and exit from the switchboard. MODUL700 switchboards have been certified by independent Testing Laboratories according to CEI-EN IEC 60439-1 and IEC EN 61439-1.

LV panels structures

The MODUL700 Low Voltage switchgear enclosures are built according to the most advanced technologies in the electric field to make high performance products, with rated current up to 6300 A and short-time current up to 100 KA, remarkable compactness, modularity and segregations up to the form 4b. They can be set up for circuit-breakers of the main manufacturers, prepared for measuring, control and protection devices, up to the preparation for mounting and connection in bars of prefabricated ducts (blind-bars) in and out of the switchboard. The MODUL700 and PMCC boards have been certified by independent Testing Laboratories according to CEI-EN IEC 60439-1 and IEC EN 61439-1.

Outdoor substations

IMEB outdoor transformer substation are divided into two categories: Container Series and CEV Series. Container Series are container-type substation of 20 or 40 feet, prearranged for incoming and outgoing cables. They can be completed with an internal lighting system, grounding, ventilation or A/C system. CEV Series, instead, are compact substation type made of galvanized steel sheet with a special epoxy painting process, particularly suitable for installations in environments with severe atmospheric conditions. The construction is modular for future extention. The roof is adequately insulated so as to avoid condensation.

Transformer compartments

These transformers compartments are equipped with ventilation grills, inspection holes, AREL locks with interlocked key, fixing brackets for low and high voltage cables, provision for mounting solenoid valves and thermostat. They are available with doors on the long side or on the short side depending on customer needs.

Power Motor Control Center panels

The IMEB Power Motor Control center is a low-voltage switchboard with withdrawable units, indispensable for continuous cycle system. Each switchboard is composed of completely independent compartments, entirely pre-assembled, it can be installed back-to-back or against a wall because completely accessible from the front, it is also available in the arc proof version. The “heart” of our PMCC is the withdrawable units Martelli Apierre technology, composed of a sturdy frame steel sheeting, appropriate disconnecting levers and auxiliary and power terminal connections. Seismic technical qualification test performed in accordance to the IEE 693-2005, at the independent laboratory (CESI-ISMES), for high-level earthquake: peak of acceleration to the ground up to 1g. During the test the circuit breakers were positively in opening-closing-opening (O-C-O) in accordance with the reference standard.

Precast concrete substations

ENEL approved structures, slab or monoblock with foundation tanks, designed directly by IMEB for the installation of medium and low voltage switchgear or for power factor correction panels, inverters for the production of energy from renewable sources. Cab solutions built on site are also available, with high degrees of internal and external finishing and customizable according to customer needs.
